The Motorist’s Advocate™: “Repair or buy?” “Why spend more than you have to when you can fix what you have with peace of mind?”

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Whether you are deciding to repair your current car or buy a new one, there are a variety of circumstances to consider. Primarily, you must consider

your vehicle’s history, current economic value, its safety and reliability. If your car is currently facing a tremendous repair bill, the easiest solution may be to buy a new one. But is this really your best bet?

Before you make any sort of long-term commitment, do some research and weigh your options. Make an informed decision based on the most feasible financial decision and produces the least amount of anxiety.

We’ve developed a list of tips and circumstances that, we hope, will help you decide to repair or buy a car:

#1 Do not spend more on auto repair bills than your car is worth.

#2 Consider investments: Those already put into your car and have your mechanic evaluate how much more you’ll need to spend to keep it up and

running.

#3 Test yourself:  Start setting aside a few hundred dollars every month to see if you can handle a new financial obligation.

#4 Ask your banker or dealer to examine your credit score and propose an interest rate for a loan.

#5 Find a Motorist Advocate™: a certified mechanic who will be reliable and save you money on auto repair bills for your current or new car.

#6 Research reliable warranty companies: because a $2000 repair bill may not be so bad when you are only responsible for $200 of it.

#7 Spend some time with your Mechanic-on-Duty:  You can talk about prospective automobile purchases and gather the most up-to-date information regarding fair prices and reliability.

In it’s second year Mechanic-on-Duty, the Motorist’s Advocate™ has been busy helping thousands of drivers save money on auto repairs. join Mechanic-on-Duty and for less than $.25 per day you can be covered.

Satisfied Member Testimonial

From the time I enrolled over the phone, right through to the first repair issue I discussed with a MOD tech, I have felt like I’m talking to a friend. That alone is great. But just this weekend MOD referred me to a nearby auto shop and I saved $575.00 on my repair. I would recommend their services to anyone and in fact I have already done so. MOD really cares.

I joined Mechanic-on-Duty because they told me that with their Repair Chat service they would be able to answer any auto related question I might have. It turned out I needed help with the purchase of a used car. Whenever I saw a car that interested me, I just called MOD and they told me the wholesale price for that car a recent auctions across the United States. It’s great having an insider’s look and feeling as though you’re making an informed decision. I tested MOD’s service as a monthly member and now I’m an annual member.

The Motorist’s Advocate™ Industry expert: announces facebook, youtube and twitter! Connecting with more motorists nationwide in 2010.

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

(MOD’s ultimate goal is to be the first call motorists make when they think they have an auto related question or issue! Its the most important call they will ever make.)

December 23, 2009, The Motorist’s Advocate™ announces it has employed the social networking capabilities of facebook, youtube and twitter to reach new subscribers and provide deeper subscriber communication and experience. The Motorist’s Advocate™ the expert in the automotive field of maintenance and repair will be broadcasting to audiences from all walks of life information that they will find useful when it comes to saving money on auto repairs and servicing. Opening better communication with members is also key in acquiring feedback from users of the services going forward. Now communicating with fans of our facebook page as it grows and with followers on our twitter page has just become easier. Links to our tweets and postings are available on the bottom of our home page. Members are also encouraged to post any auto related experience on our blog, signing up is simple. The best part of our service is: once you are a member you can call as often as you like!

Auto repairs represent one of the largest household expenses and the auto industry is only second in consumer complaints. Very little transparency exists in the auto industry and the industry likes it that way. The money you save on auto repairs can be put to better use elsewhere in your life. After all anyone who drives who is not a mechanic could benefit from the exclusive services Repair Audit™ and Repair Chat™ and optional 24 Hour Emergency Roadside Assistance offered by The Motorist’s Advocate™. MOD seeks to level the playing field for its subscribers. Operating nationally, The Motorist’s Advocate™ is a non-insurance consumer service that does not generate any revenue from any auto repair industry sources.

Now that the ground work is in place, during the upcoming year 2010 MOD will also post “special limited time offers” and announce new services as they come on-line. Some special offers will only be made available through our social networking reach as they expand to other platforms. Also, going forward MOD will begin posting audio and video of satisfied member experiences.

While immediately we are proud to announce a new look for the home page www.mechaniconduty.com as-well-as the upgraded user interface of our enrollment form. Also NEW from MOD this year is the first video “The Founding of the Motorist’s Advocate™, presented by: MOD’s CEO and the production of a first “of more to come” industrial videos that is now central to the home page experience. “There is not one single wasted second in our new national ad campaign video – How MOD Works” said Martin Conlon Founder and CEO. How MOD Works aired nationally on the ION Network.

“It is well known by most Americans that most motorist are cost sensitive and even more rip-off sensitive to overpaying for auto repairs that they wait till the last second to perform the repair and more often the unchecked issue will worsen as the miles and pot holes pile up. That’s how accidents can happen. MOD aims to help people realize they didn’t have to generally pay the outrageous fees they originally associate with repairs. We all know someone who has felt like they over paid for a repair, reaching out to these people before they have an automotive issue is a driving force. I am so excited for the future of our expansion into the social media landscape!” Said Brian R. Schneider National Director – Sales and Marketing, “reaching new groups, bloggers and possible subscribers as we grow will be a key factor in 2010 and beyond, making full use of the web 2.0.” Knowing how to approach a repair or maintenance issue from the instance it is realized by the motorist is crucial in the path to saving money. MOD can answer any question in a timely friendly manor. (MOD’s ultimate goal is to be the first call motorists make when they think they have a auto related question or issue!)

The Motorist’s Advocate™ would like to express our warmest thanks to its current subscribers for supporting the money saving efforts we are breaking new ground with. Also thanks to the distribution partners already in place and doing business with us.
